Real Madrid vs. Juventus
This Sunday morning sees a soccer final of all proportions and a homecoming to boot for a city’s favourite footballing son.
Real Madrid will face Juventus in Cardiff and Real superstar, Welshman Gareth Bale, says he is still not 100% fit after missing the last eight Real Madrid games.
It would be an incredible third Champions League triumph of his career if he does get to lace his boots up and he did state “If I’m called upon to start, I will start, obviously.”
He scored when Real beat Atletico Madrid in the 2014 final, then scored when his side beat them again in 2016 so if he does get on make sure you have a little flutter on Bale scoring again.
It’s a tough one for his coach, Zinedine Zidane, who has to make a choice between playing his $145million superstar or in-form Isco who has scored five goals in his last 11 games.
Zidane knows they are two critical players stating that “the most important thing is to see the players in top form.”
If Real do win, it will be the first time since 1957-58 they will be crowned Spanish and European champions, a side that had the legend Di Stefano up front.
Di Stefano ended up winning five Cups with his side winning the European Cup, as it was then called, in 1955,56,57,58,59 and 60.
If Bale does play and his side wins, he will surely join the legends of Real past.
